One of the Southwark ones is at the entrance of Dulwich Hamlet Football Club, Edgar Kail Way, SE22 to comemorate….EDGAR KAIL!
The greatest amateur footballer there ever was!
“Edgar Kail in my heart keep me Dulwich,
Edgar Kail in my heart I pray,
Edgar Kail in my heart keep me Dulwich,
Keep me Dulwich til my dying day!”
(Sung on the terrace at Champion Hill today, more than thirty years after the great man died, and over seventy years since he retired from wearing the famous Pink and Blue shirt!)
