Google’s new Desktop 3 will let Google store files from your hard disk
I already use gmail, so Google has my email and search history, but I think this would feel like too many of my eggs in someone else’s basket.

It’s an interesting concept and I guess if you really need the ability to search across a number of computers it’ll be the easiest/cheapest way for a home user and therefore maybe worth the security risk?…I can probably live without it.
I alreasy use Google (via GMail) to store backups of my databases!
